Mastering Your Mind Power: Affirm, Affirm, Affirm!

Armed with a list of the things, conditions, circumstances, and people you truly want in your life, how do you now give the items on your list the best possibility of becoming your new consistent thoughts? Actually, you use the same process you used to make your the items on your DO NOT WANT list your consistent thoughts. The major difference is you are now going to be conscious and aware of the process. You now also have your own clearly defined objectives in mind.

What is the process? If you will think back to your very earliest learning experiences, whether it was learning to crawl, to walk, to master the alphabets, or to read, the process was basically one of spaced repetition. Your parents or caregiver would coax you into the activity and engage you in it for a short while. They would likely how well you were doing, heap lots of praise and positive reinforcement upon you, and leave the activity behind for a time. They would later repeat the pattern of coaxing, engaging, affirming, reinforcing, and leaving the activity behind again.

When it came to learning what is now DO NOT WANT activities and behavior, coaxing, in many cases, gradually became demands. Most of the other components of the process remained intact. Pretty simple, is it not?

You are an adult now, and as your DO NOT WANT list will verify, you have lots of mental baggage to discard if you are going to successfully master your mind power and move yourself more toward the kinds of life experiences you desire. Discarding, in this case, really means developing new consistent thoughts and behavioral patterns that are the exact opposite of those you are leaving behind.

A couple of the components in the process will require a significant shift in emphasis. Repeating will now take center stage in the process, followed closely by positive reinforcement. In my most humble opinion, the use of is the most powerful free tool available to you and other people of sound mind to take control of and put it to use for your ends.

As you begin to use affirmations, I think you will understand why I feel so strongly that at least an overview of the (personality, ego, map of reality, etc.) is so important. You should be alerted that particularly early on, the is going to be extremely active attempting to convince you that your effort to change your life is a waste of time.

It has an arsenal of fears, doubts, and phobias to inject into your thinking process, and it will regularly attempt to direct you back into the direction of your old familiar DO NOT WANT world. Perhaps the most popular trick it uses is to allow you to repeat your affirmation and just as you are ending it, the self image will then ease a tail-ender into your regimen. A tail-ender is a very subtle thought that is in reality the reverse of the affirmation you just completed.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power: Determining What You Really Want

July 21st, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
Let us take a moment to review some of what we have discussed so far.

• I have stated my position that no matter what your life circumstances are, you have all the you need in your possession right now to immeasurably improve those conditions.

• Generally, your life circumstances are not really your fault, although this is not meant to give you license to blame others either.

• It is up to you to either continue doing what you are now doing or to take positive actions to improve your life outcomes including more money, if you choose.

• To bring about meaningful changes in your life requires a COMMITMENT TO CHANGE and a PROCESS.

• There are many processes available from the many books, audio CDs, and DVDs on the market created by personal development authors, but the commitment can only come from you.

If you have not chosen a from one of those sources, feel free to adopt the one I recommend in these articles that has served me well. I call it , wherein you literally begin to think and act in the exact opposite of your present habitual patterns.

If you have chosen to adopt this 180 degree life, you should have prepared a list of things, conditions, and people you do not want in your life any longer. I suggest that you now take that list and on the right side of the sheet, write a statement that represents to you the exact opposite of each of those items.

For example, you may have written on the left side of your sheet that your relationship with your significant other stinks. On the right side you might write that you desire a loving, caring, fulfilling relationship with a significant other. In another example, you may have written on the left side that you do not have enough money. On the right side, you could write that you desire to be financially rich. For each item you list on the right side of your sheet, write a brief paragraph defining what that particular desire means to you.

Once you have completed your list on both the left and right side of the sheet or sheets of paper, take another clean sheet and list all of the DO NOT WANT things on it. This time the items do not have to be on a particular side of the sheet. Do the same for the DO WANT items along with the defining statements you have written.

After you have separated your DO NOT WANT list form your DO WANT list, it is time to perform a little ceremony. Take the DO NOT WANT list and shred it into very small pieces and flush them in small groups down the toilet, making sure that each group of shreds does not plug up the plumbing. There is a psychological reason for doing this. You are figuratively flushing the things you DO NOT WANT out of your mind and out of your life. What remains is what you truly do want.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power - Are You Ready?

July 7th, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
We see lots or stories, articles, studies, and reports telling us about our collective financial situation. They tell us that less than one half of the adult population has saved $25,000 or more toward retirement. They even make us believe that it is our fault

Since you’re reading this article, chances are you are a member of the larger majority and you are not financially where you desire to be. If you are in that majority and you are satisfied with your situation, then by all means stay put where you are. You are certainly free to choose what manner of life you live, so long as it is not illegal and does not interfere with the rights of others. It really does not matter how others may feel about your choices.

If, on the other hand, you are not satisfied, you might still feel powerless to do anything differently to bring about different outcomes in your life. You are now where I was not long ago, and it is to you and for you that I write these articles.

It is not likely that the stars are going to suddenly align themselves and heap fortune and fame upon you tomorrow. It not likely that the winds of change are suddenly going to sweep you up into the top 3-5% of income earners and bring you financial freedom overnight. For most of us, that is not the way life works.

To move in a direction where you have more control of your mind power is going to require significant change in your life. In his book RICH DAD, POOR DAD, Robert Kiyosaki,, relates a situation where one day his rich dad asked him about the thinking of rich people and the thinking of poor people. Young Kiyosaki, responded that their thinking is DIFFERENT. His rich dad corrected him by saying they do not think DIFFERENT; they think OPPOSITE (each other). That is a huge clue!

For your life to change significantly you must change significantly, more accurately, your thinking has to change significantly. The control of must change significantly. You must begin to live what I call , a life in which your thinking and actions are 180 degrees in the opposite direction of most of your present thinking and actions. Are you ready?

Here is a little assignment for you. Your challenge (if you chose to accept it) is to carve out some quiet time for your self, take out a few sheets of paper, draw a line down the middle of the sheet or sheets and begin listing on the left side of the page any beliefs, situations, habits and conditions that you can think of that you do not want in your life any more because they no longer positively benefit you.

Be honest with yourself. This list is for your eyes only. You have had more than enough input or advice from others during your life. In fact, where do you think most of your present undesirable thoughts and beliefs came from? This exercise is about you working on your own individual life no matter how uncomfortable it might feel initially!

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own . You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power: What Is Your Why?

June 28th, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
In the articles I have written on this subject, I have shared some information with you primarily about how your mind works, how tremendously powerful it is, and the number barrier to mastering your mind power, namely, your . I close each article with a statement of my belief in you because of the great you now have in your possession.

Before discussing , let us first take a look at a few WHAT questions. WHAT kind of legacy do you wish to leave your children and other loved ones; a legacy of wealth or a pile of debt? WHAT kind of financial and other support to you want to provide to your significant others to help them live the lives they desire and to help them reach their full potential? In WHAT way or ways do you want to leave the world a better place than it was before you came?

Here now is the WHY question for you. There are probably several answers to this question. If you do not nail down at least one well thought-out answer, however, there is a strong possibility that you will not have the staying power necessary to stick with your dreams and goals, whatever they may be. Challenges are certain to appear. The old is sure to unleash its arsenal of habits upon you in an effort to stay in control.

The question is what is ? WHY do you want to have financial abundance; to make more money or save more money? WHY do you want to live your dream; have the freedom to do what you want to do when you want to do it? WHY do you want to develop more of your talents or skills; to feel competent in more areas of your life? Why do you want to be honored and respected; to gain praise, popularity and admiration? WHY do you want to gain control over your life by ; to be the captain of ship of your own soul, to guide your own life?

Your quest for your WHY might produce more than one answer. Multiple answers, in this case do not produce a hindrance. In fact, where your WHY is concerned, there is strength in numbers (up to a point). If you establish more than one WHY, I strongly recommend you find a method to prioritize them. Your strongest WHY is the one that provides the strongest motivational drive to support your efforts.

Determining your WHY is not something you should do quickly or haphazardly. You should spend a few days, weeks or even months if necessary to be sure to get it right. You want to find the emotional energy that will sustain you through the challenging experiences.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power: Are Habits Permanent?

June 18th, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
One of the great on-going debates in the field of Psychology centers around what happens to those that no longer control us because we were able to reverse or replace them. I subscribe to the position of Gary Craig, founder of the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). He proposes that the old habits never depart once they have entered the subconscious mind. They kind of fade into the background and become less active or inactive. Given the opportunity, however, they will fully re-assert themselves and derail your efforts at mastering your mind power just as a garden will be re-claimed by useless weeds, grasses, and shrubs if not frequently cultivated.

I agree with the position of Mr. Craig. Based on the preponderance of information coming from numerous hypnosis experiments, especially those experiments in the area of age regression, I believe the evidence is clear. In some instances, hypnotists have succeeded in regressing patients to a time when they were still in the womb, and the hypnotists were able to elicit clear memories of that time from the patients.

Please remember that even though this and other articles may point to the negative side of habits, there are many habits that are extremely helpful to you. We all have a multitude of them to which we have become slaves. Since that is the case, why not follow the advice of Og Mandino (author of The Greatest Salesman In The World), if we are going to be slave to , commit to forming good habits and become their slave! Good habits are those that support you in your efforts to be, do, and have what you desire.

Even though you may have many habits that do not serve you well, the good news is habits can be changed or replaced! Even the most recalcitrant habit cannot resist the power of a commitment to remove it from its control over your behavior and your life. One of the best ways to weaken the power of unwanted habits is stop spending so much time living in the past. You tend to give them your emotional energy and strengthen them when you mentally re-live past events over and over in which the various habits were involved.

I know that it might seem unfair to you that you have to put so much work into changing habitual behavior that you had very little to do with (consciously) developing, but those are the cards you and 95% of the population have been dealt. The questions I put before you is: What are you now going to do about your situation? Are you going to do nothing and continue to have the same kinds of life experiences day after day, year after year, or are you going to make a commitment to change the habits that need to be changed in order to experience more of what you want from life?

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power: Habit And The Self Image

June 11th, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
Your , you may recall, is the mental blueprint or mental picture you carry around. It is the self image that must be changed to gain or re-gain control of the power of your subconscious mind.

The consists of all thoughts, fears, phobias, actions, feelings, and behavior that you have accumulated and have been securely stored in your subconscious mind during your lifetime. From these various elements, your beliefs about yourself have unconsciously been formed. Your past experiences, including your successes, failures, humiliations, so-called constructive criticisms, and the way people have responded to us have all made contributions.

Much of what is stored in your subconscious mind was placed there in your early childhood, at a time when the frontal, reasoning part of your brain was not sufficiently developed to allow you to make decisions based on reason. By the time your brain was fully developed, you had formed many, many beliefs. It was from this sizable pool of beliefs that your self image (a picture or blueprint) was constructed. Over time belief after belief was added to this picture.

Remember, any idea, thought or image that is passed on to the subconscious mind becomes a belief, and any belief so formed, becomes your truth and is no longer open to question. Whether the belief is true or not, you simply act or re-act to your beliefs as if they were true!

Some of your beliefs grew out your personal experiences and include answers to questions like: Am I intelligent? Am I likable? Am I stupid? Am I a failure? Am I weak? Most beliefs, however, are internalizations of the judgments of other people, especially family, friends, and authority figures in institutions like schools and churches.

When you reached adulthood, there were hundreds or even thousands of infantile beliefs (truths) that had been added to your self image. During those early years, you were not encouraged nor allowed, in some cases, to use conscious reasoning as you negotiated your way through life. As a result, the self image took on more and more control of your thinking about and reactions to life.

Your self image had a reservoir of subconscious beliefs (truths) to draw upon in response to your life situations without your conscious involvement. It could simply repeat past responses to similar situations. These infantile beliefs are the truths that the self image used to control nearly every aspect of your life in adulthood. Its repetitive control gradually became deeply ingrained habit. Is it any wonder that life is such a struggle for you and most people?

As I have stated before, I believe the lack of a basic understanding of how the self image is formed and the control it exercises over our lives is the single greatest barrier to and living more of the lives we desire. The self image, however, can be changed. New habits can be formed. You can change.

You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power; Does Habit Play a Part?

June 4th, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
is both the problem and the solution to your mastering your mind power and more fully exercising the power of your mind. If your were to take inventory of the thoughts you consistently think from day to day, you would be amazed at how little conscious, focused thinking takes place.

Most of your working hours are probably spent attending to your job. There is a 95% chance that your job is of the paycheck to paycheck variety, and if you have been on that job for a while, it has probably become fairly routine and does not require much problem-solving, focused thinking.

are actions or behaviors that have been repeated so regularly that they have become routines that are engaged in without consciously thinking about them. They are learned actions or behaviors, rather than instinctive. They occur automatically, for the most part, without the explicit conscious intention of a person.

I am not aware of any studies that have determined the number of the average adult has formed by, let us say, age 25. I imagine that number is in the hundreds, maybe even in the thousands.

In a sense, one could say that we human beings are just a big bundle of habits moving through life. Some habits are good. Others we most assuredly can do without.

They range from actions as simple as how we form letters to construct words when we write, the way we walk, the way we talk, or the way we put on garments. More complicated habits include the way we respond to negative comments made about us by others or the way we respond to thoughts about wealth and wealthy people.

Some habits are certainly very useful, for they free us from having to think through every one of the many details that are in nearly every action in which we engage throughout our day.

Most of us have built a multitude of habitual beliefs (or someone else has built them for us) about every facet of life. These beliefs are so conditioned within us that they have become our truths through which we see our world.

It is very important to understand the contribution habits make to the construction of the . A simple definition of a person’s is the conception of the sort of person one thinks he or she is. It is a mental blueprint that has been built up from subconsciously embedded beliefs about himself or herself.

A person’s self image, consisting of many habits, is very resistant to change. It will yield to you, however, if your desire for a more prosperous or fulfilling life is strong enough.

There is no better time than right now to begin developing new habits, habits that move you toward financial freedom to do what you want to do when you want to do it.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power; Do Affirmations Help Or Hinder?

May 27th, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
Having made the declaration that you can never fail, I wish to be very clear. As you develop your plan for mastering your mind power, remember that your mind is a , goal-achieving, mechanical-like entity. It never seeks failure. It knows absolutely nothing about what you call failure.

It only knows how to materialize the emotionally charged goals (thoughts, images, and beliefs) that reside in your subconscious mind whether you consciously, deliberately placed those goals there or not. If you did not consciously place them there, someone else did!

When I began to consciously take more control of my , I chose to use to implant my goals. Other methods were available to me that I knew about. They included hypnosis, self hypnosis, as well as subliminal media, but since I desired to have as much conscious control of the process as possible, I chose affirmations.

I was employed as a buyer in a public school district in northern California, earning less that $1,500 a month. I was motivated enough by a desire for more income to devise a 5-year goal of earning $35,000 a year.

I stumbled across some information that provided pictorial representations of my new goal which I cut and pasted unto a goal sheet. I then crafted three affirmations and began my goal-implanting program.

Needless to say, I got off to a very rocky start. Each time I repeated an affirmation, I almost immediately received what appeared to be a never ending stream of negative thoughts that indicated to me that I was wasting my time.

There was no one who previously held my position whose income had grown to my goal level in five years. In fact, I had heard of only a handful of people in my industry throughout the entire state that had done so and they usually had to re-locate to different areas of the state.

Those thoughts would usually carry over into my work day and into my leisure time as well. Since I did not see many options, I stuck with the affirmations and would do what I could to fight off the countering, negative thoughts.

A short time into my program, I learned that those negative, counter thoughts are called tail-enders. If those highly emotional tail-enders were not neutralized, they in fact became or re-established themselves as my true affirmations. Thus, more of the conditions they represented materialized in my experience.

In spite of the re-occurrence of the tail-enders, I was motivated enough to continue with the affirmations. I did not reach my $35,000 a year goal in five years. It actually took me just over six years, but my income leaped over the $35,000 goal to $37,500! I became sold on and a big believer in the help affirmations provide.

This I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Your Mind Power Is The Product Your Goal-Seeking, Goal-Achieving Mind

May 21st, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
Any information that enters the domain of your goal-seeking, goal achieving mind that it recognizes as a goal, it is not going to question. It is simply going to materialize it for you.

Here is my take on how failure enters the picture. If you think you are giving your , goal-achieving mind one goal to achieve, but you do not get this goal past your and into your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind, it is going to materialize something from the pre-set conditions or from another input source.

You hope for one thing but receive something else in your experience, probably the very opposite of what you want. You think that you have somehow failed in your attempt to reach a goal you hoped to reach. Repeat this scenario a few times and it is easy to see why you would allow yourself to grab onto the extremely detrimental but much popularized word “failure.”

Your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind is never going to take a goal of increased prosperity you have allowed into it and materialize more lack and limitation in your experience. That would be like asking corn seeds to produce tomatoes or asking peanut seeds to bring forth bananas!

Whatever is allowed into it, it simply accepts as directions from you that this is what you are telling it to materialize. Through unknown universal processes, it delivers it into your life.

Your part in this creative process is so very simple and at the same time, apparently very difficult. You are the director. It is up to you to give directions to your goal-seeking, goal achieving mind as to what you want it to achieve for you! It is that simple. If you do not, someone else will.

There are some impediments to this simple operation, however, that we should explore.

The first of these blocks (stepping stones) is a lack of rudimentary knowledge of how the mind works.

The second impediment is a lack of an easy to use technique to definitively place your directions into the goal-seeking, goal achieving area of your mind.

The third barrier is a lack of understanding how your self image (ego, personality, map of reality, etc.) is formed and the tremendous amount of control it takes unto itself in cahoots with the conscious mind.

The fourth is a lack of easy to use techniques to break the stranglehold of your self image (ego, personality, map of reality, etc.) and claim or re-claim control of your mind.

See article “What Does Your Mind Power Have To Do With Your Financial Conditions?” for explanation of the conscious mind.
See article “ – Your Number 1 Challenge!” for explanation of the major operations of the subconscious mind and the development of the self image.

Here is something I know for sure. You can claim or re-claim control of your own mind power. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

Mastering Your Mind Power; No Need To Worry About Failure

May 13th, 2008

Harold L Lowe
Harold L Lowe
There is no failure gene in your DNA, so there is no need to worry about it. Just imagine, your mind is a goal-seeking, goal-achieving part of you, and it carries out those operations in a machine-like manner. You can never fail in your efforts to master so long as you persist. Furthermore, you have never failed.

Here is why. The portion of your mind that we are referring to here has as its sole responsibility seeking out and achieving the goals you direct it to seek out and achieve. That is all it does, day and night. It never rejects or counters any of your directions.

Please do not confuse the , goal-achieving area of your mind with the self image. This goal-seeking, goal-achieving area never argues whether your directions are for your good or not. It never moralizes your directives to it. It simply accepts your directions, achieves what you direct, and brings it into your physical world.

“If this is true,” I hear you ask, “why am I getting so many unwanted things in my experience? Surely I did not direct my mind to bring this stuff to me.” I would have to agree with you to a point. You probably did not consciously direct your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind to bring a shortage of money, illness or other misfortunes into your life.

However, when was the last time you consciously gave ANY directive to your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind? Do you ever remember doing it? When was the last time you paid conscious attention to what you are consistently thinking all day and all night? Have you ever done such analysis?

If you are like I was and like most people are, you probably have never paid much attention to what you are thinking on a daily basis over an extended period of time. Your mind is likely running on automatic pilot, with the exception of the few times you are shaken into awareness to deal with some urgent matter.

What is your goal-seeking, goal achieving mind doing when you leave your mind to run on automatic pilot? Well in the absence of your consciously giving it goals (directions), it simply analyzes its subconscious surroundings for the most emotionally charged goals it has achieved for you before (whether wanted or unwanted).

Whether you previously gave conscious directives to it to materialize those goals is of no importance to it. It selects them, based on your state of being and delivers the associated conditions to you.

There may be hundreds or even thousands of those pre-set conditions in your subconscious mind awaiting a signal to join forces with the goal-seeking, goal-achieving portion of your mind to produce the experiences with which they are associated.

The point of all of this is that you are now in possession of the only fool-proof, fail-safe, and perfect success system in existence, your goal-seeking, goal-achieving mind! Your task, if you choose to accept it, is to clearly communicate to it what you desire to experience.

This I know for sure. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.
